Find the fun.

As artistic educators, we should look to create spaces where students can make “happy mistakes”, so that we see what could be done differently the next time. When the work makes us feel like we are having fun, we won’t feel like we are working; we are also feeling comfortable enough to learn. When we allow ourselves to find the fun, we are not aiming for perfection. The role of a creative leader is not just about teaching, but also reaching; meeting the student where they are at. So naturally, we get to know each other.

Because that is how we get to tell stories.

We are never done learning—it’s a never-ending journey.
